Amnesty Guild Policies

This document defines the guild's core information and policies that apply to every member, regardless of guild rank.

Current Management (aka Who Takes the Blame):

GM - Tigra
Officers - Baldzkrieg, Deathadder, Stryke and Wixer
Raid Leader/Admins - Kettena/Aevum, Onlyifwe and Urasu

History:

Amnesty was founded on April 15, 2007 (because really, what else would you do to celebrate sending your money to the government?).  Amnesty started as a small social guild, doing PVP and 5 man dungeons together, eventually progressing to 10 mans and ultimately 25 mans.  As our raiding roster increased the focus of the guild turned more and more to progression raiding.  We still welcome social members and love to have our family and friends join the guild, but we now differentiate between social and raiding members of the guild when it comes time for raid invites.

Raiding History:

In TBC, Amnesty started a bit after most raiding guilds, moving from Kara through the end of SWP before WOTLK dropped.

We are one of the few guilds on the server to finish both Glory of the Raider and Heroic: Glory of the Raider, obtaining Plagued and Black Proto-drakes in patch 3.0. 3 of our 10 man raids have completed Glory of the Ulduar Raider to earn Rusted Proto-Drakes. We also regularly take down Algalon in 10 man mode. Our 25 man raid has fully cleared ToC and ICC25 on regular. We have finished about 3/4 of the Ulduar 25 hard modes and are working on finishing up One Light in the Darkness to earn our Iron-bound Protos. We are also currently in the process of finishing off TOGC farming and working on Heroic modes in ICC25.

Personality of the Guild:

Amnesty is an adult-oriented guild [translation: Vent and gchat are a minefield of sexual innuendo and physically impossible suggestions]. We're here to have a good time, experience this game to its fullest, and not get bogged down with typical guild drama [translation: Don't be an asshole]. The guild management is not overly controlling, but any issues will be resolved swiftly and properly [translation: Don't make the officers have to be assholes].

Amnesty is a flexible and supportive guild. We understand that people have school/jobs/family and those all come first.  We do, however, require a minimum attendance to retain your status as a raider and enforce an Attendance Policy to deal with people who have a surge of things come up that interfere with their raid time and/or allow the regaining of active raider status.  We are an active guild, running heroics, regular instances, achievements, PVPing, Arenas and daily quests together on a regular basis.

Member Behavior:

Generally, this guild has developed the habits and manners of a frat house, not necessarily in a bad way.  Language is often crude and insults fly freely.  If you're going to be thin-skinned or offended by this, we're probably not the place for you.  That being said, the insults are rarely meant in any serious or mean-spirited way, it's just teasing.

No matter how rude we are to each other in vent or gchat, it is absolutely expected that our members will be polite to OTHER players, when interacting with them in Trade, General, outside forums, PUG groups/raids, or any other situation.  We are a respectable guild and we mean to keep it that way.  Don't trash our reputation.

Anyone who is caught doing something that violates this policy (i.e. forum trolling or ninja'ing loot from pugs) will be spoken to swiftly.  If the matter is not resolved immediately, you will be removed from the guild.

If there is a conflict within the guild, we encourage members to straighten it out on their own.  If it can't be handled between players, bring the conflict to the officers and it will be resolved.

Communication:

We make extensive use of these forums to communicate with all of our members.  If you have a suggestion or a change you want to see occur, it's best generally to post that, so the group as a whole can have access to the idea and discuss it.

Guild Structure:

GM (Tigra)
Officers (Baldzkrieg, Deathadder, Stryke and Wixer)
Raid Leaders/Admins (Kettena/Aevum and Urasu)
Raiders
Alt Raiders
Social Members
Trials

*Administrative Point of Contact:  Tigra/Kettena/Aevum/Urasu for website/forums/DKP/vent access and questions.

Raiders:  Expected to attend every raid night, in a proper spec and prepared with all consumables and reagents.  Absences or tardiness must be posted as soon as possible, or an officer contacted via whisper/PM/text/phone call.  Will have priority for a raid spot, class balance allowing.

Alt Raiders:  Expected to attend as many raids as they can.  We appreciate you posting absences or evenings you will be late, but understand if this does not happen.  Secondary priority for a raid spot.

Social Members:  Guild member.  Welcome to participate in all non-progression raiding activities via joining up groups forming in game, or via forum signups, as appropriate.

Trials:  Rank during probationary membership period.  We expect trials to behave like raiders, i.e. show up to each and every raid night on time, prepared to raid, with all consumables/reagents.  Absences or tardiness must be posted or an officer alerted.  We attempt to get trials as much raid time as possible so we can see how they do, again having to work this around raid balance requirements.
